Just wanted to let all my readers know that DXO has released an updated version of all the NIK software. I have downloaded it and everything seems to be exactly the same as it was before...which is good for right now. Nothing new to learn. Yay! They simply updated all the software to function properly on all the new operating systems for MAC and PC.  So those of you who were losing NIK when you updated your operating systems...should be able to get NIK back now. The only caveat is that you have to purchase it again. They have it for $49.99 through July 1st at which time it goes to about $70. Considering how much I've always relied on NIK, I was willing to spend the $50 so that NIK would now work properly with my current operating system.  Since NIK had not been maintained for several years, if you owned the software it was getting glitchy. They have remedied this and it seems to be functioning very well on my system.

It is currently a plug-in for Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2018, and Photoshop Elements. I do not have any information regarding plans to make it a stand alone program at any time. NIK was a plug-in before and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

Here is an example of an image that only had 2 filters applied in Color Efex Pro (previously called Color Efex Pro4) and it took me about 45 seconds to apply them. This is the main reason why I have always loved this software.  The right side had the Skylight filter and the Tonal Contrast filter applied. Nothing else.

Welcome Back NIK!  I hope you all enjoy using it!

Have an awesome weekend!
