what we’ll cover

  • Long Exposure Photography including filter options, light leaks, shutter speeds, common problems and how to avoid them, composition considerations, and so much more. Long exposure photography is a fascinating way to get more creative with your photography.

  • Night Photography We’ll have a presentation covering ALL aspects of night photography including settings for pinpoint stars, practicing star trails, light painting, photographing the moon, meteor showers, photographing the Milky Way, etc… We’ll cover both basic and advanced night photography techniques and with 2 nights to practice, we will concentrate on pinpoint stars one evening and star trails the next.

  • Macro Photography Macro opportunities abound on this island. I’ve timed the workshop to have a mid-day beneficial tide for both Long Exposure and Macro work on the boneyard beach.

  • Due to the short days in winter, we’ll be able to photograph both sunsets and sunrises over water.
